Natural pregnancy with a boost from science: Artificial insemination
Why choose Avida?

What is Artificial Insemination (AI)?
When is artificial insemination recommended?
It is recommended in cases of mild male factor, treated ovulation problems, mild endometriosis, unexplained infertility, the need for donor sperm in couples of women, or as a first treatment before IVF.
How is semen prepared for AI?
Semen is processed using sperm training techniques that concentrate the most mobile sperm cells, eliminate seminal plasma and substances that can cause adverse reactions, optimizing the sample for fertilization.
Does the insemination procedure hurt?
It's a simple and virtually painless procedure similar to a routine gynecological exam. A thin catheter is inserted through the cervix to deposit semen directly into the uterus.
What are your chances of success?
Success rates vary by age: 40 <35 años (15-20% por ciclo), 35-40 años (10-15%), > years (< 10%). Factors such as sperm quality, ovarian reserve and time of ovulation play a significant role.
How many cycles should I try?
We generally recommend 3-6 cycles before considering IVF, depending on age, ovarian reserve, and sperm quality. If there is no pregnancy after 3-4 cycles, we consider moving to more complex treatments.
This is how the natural path of artificial insemination begins.
Let's start your journey!
Evaluation and preparation of the cycle
Basic fertility evaluation, seminal analysis, monitoring of natural menstrual cycles, or gentle ovarian stimulation if necessary to optimize ovulation. We determine the most appropriate protocol based on your profile.
Accurate ovulation monitoring
Follicular development monitoring using transvaginal ultrasound and hormonal analysis. We identify the optimal time of ovulation to schedule insemination during the period of maximum fertility.
Specialized Seminal Preparation
On the day of insemination, we process the seminal sample using training techniques that concentrate motile sperm, eliminate toxic substances, and optimize the sample for intrauterine fertilization.
Insemination procedure
We perform the insemination at the optimal time identified. The procedure lasts 5-10 minutes, is practically painless, and is performed in a gynecological position using a specialized sterile catheter.
Post-insemination follow-up
Luteal phase support if necessary, symptom monitoring, pregnancy test 14 days after insemination, and planning next steps depending on the result obtained.
