Your decision to preserve paternity: Sperm freezing
What is sperm freezing?
When should I consider freezing sperm?
Before a vasectomy, cancer treatments, urological procedures that may affect fertility, progressive deterioration of seminal quality or if you plan to postpone paternity and want the quality of your sperm to be preserved.
How long of abstinence do I need before the procedure?
Sexual abstinence for 2-5 days is recommended. Less time can reduce volume and concentration, while longer time can affect mobility. This period optimizes both quantity and quality of sperm for a better cryopreservation result.
How many samples should I freeze?
It depends on initial seminal quality and planned future use. For normal parameters, 3-5 samples may be sufficient. For reduced quality, 5-10 may be needed. Each sample contains approximately 0.5 ml with millions of sperm.
What is the survival rate of frozen sperm?
Modern cryopreservation techniques achieve survival rates of 60-90%, depending on the initial quality of the sample. Surviving sperm cells maintain fertilizer capacity comparable to fresh sperm in techniques such as ICSI.
How are frozen sperm used in the future?
They are thawed under controlled conditions, post-thaw survival and quality are evaluated, and used in intrauterine insemination (if quality is good) or ICSI in IVF (for any quality). The method depends on the quantity and quality of viable sperm.

Let's start your journey!
Specialized andrological evaluation
We perform a complete evaluation using a seminogram that analyzes sperm concentration, mobility and morphology. We include hormonal analysis (testosterone, FSH, LH) and evaluation of medical conditions that may affect semen quality.
Preparation and optimization
We provide guidance on the optimal period of abstinence (2-5 days), factors that can improve sperm quality (nutrition, supplements, avoiding toxins), and scheduling the procedure according to availability and medical urgency if applicable.
Obtaining a specialized sample
The sample is obtained through masturbation in a private and comfortable environment in our facilities. The sample must be processed within 1 hour to maintain optimal viability.
Cryopreservation with advanced technology
Sperm cells are prepared with specialized cryoprotectors, frozen using a controlled protocol for a gradual decrease in temperature, and are stored duly identified in liquid nitrogen tanks with 24/7 monitoring systems.
Secure storage and future planning
Your sperm are kept in optimal condition with continuous monitoring. You can access them when you decide to start your family, either for artificial insemination or IVF-ICSI as required.
