Together at every step:
Fertility evaluation as a couple
What is comprehensive evaluation?
When should I have a fertility evaluation?
After 12 months of unsuccessful attempts to conceive through regular unprotected sex. Important exception: If the woman is 35 years of age or older, evaluation is recommended after 6 months of attempts, as female fertility declines more rapidly after this age. Immediate evaluation should also be sought if there is a relevant medical history such as previous surgeries, hormonal diseases, severe menstrual irregularities, or a history of sexually transmitted infections.
How do we carry out the evaluation?
We perform a comprehensive evaluation that includes medical history, reproductive history, lifestyle habits and factors that may be affecting fertility.
What tests are done?
For her: Hormonal tests (FSH, LH, estradiol, AMH, prolactin, TSH), transvaginal ultrasound to evaluate uterus and ovaries, hysterosalpingography to verify fallopian tube permeability. For him: Complete spermatogram (sperm concentration, mobility and morphology), hormonal analysis (testosterone, FSH, LH), urological physical exam, and semen culture if indicated.
When is additional testing required?
They are requested when basic tests show alterations that require further investigation, when there is a relevant medical history (previous surgeries, autoimmune diseases, oncological treatments), in cases of repeated failure of fertility treatments, when unexplained infertility is detected after the initial evaluation, or when genetic factors are suspected due to family history.
How do I get my diagnosis?
We integrate all the results to establish an accurate diagnosis and develop the most effective treatment plan for each specific couple.
Fertility Testing Process
Let's start your evaluation!
Detailed medical history and physical exam
We perform a comprehensive evaluation that includes medical history, reproductive history, lifestyle habits and factors that may be affecting the fertility of both partners.
Specialized tests depending on the time of the cycle
Hormonal tests such as FSH and estradiol are performed between the second and fifth day of the menstrual cycle, while the AMH test can be performed at any time during the cycle.
Male evaluation with seminogram
Semen analysis determines sperm concentration, mobility and morphology according to WHO standards, requiring 3-5 days of sexual abstinence for accurate results.
Personalized comprehensive diagnosis
We integrate all the results to establish an accurate diagnosis and develop the most effective treatment plan for each specific couple.
